I shoot both film and digital photography. Although most of my work is digital, I love returning to the roots of film when accessible. The process of loading film, shooting, processing, enlarging an image in the darkroom to finally viewing a photo come to life in the developer returns me to the ‘why’ of my practice—freezing a moment that brought myself or others a deep connection with the fascination and variety of life.

Although the first memories I have of falling in love with photography came from a small point and shoot digital camera, the wonder of film returns me to the adventurous, child in me. This mindfulness with film has taught me to appreciate every image when shooting digital and although editing is vastly less hands on, still sparks waves of pure joy.
